who are we?

Praamvaren Leeuwarden is a non-profit organization run by an enthousiastic group of volunteers who organize boat tours in and near the city of Leeuwarden. The aim of the organization is to promote Leeuwarden as a wonderful water city. After all, the city has a rich history and is famous for its many canals and other smaller waterways. Our experienced captains and guides will tell you everything there is to know about Leeuwarden. We have a fleet of four authentic flat boats powered by modern and clean electric motors: "De Greate" (the Big One) (capacity of 20 persons), "Pake Rein" (Grandfather Rein) (24 persons), "De Nije" (The New One) (28 persons) and "Marijke Meu" (24 persons).


The costs of hiring a boat start at € 100 per hour, including a captain and a guide. You are more than welcome to bring food and drink on board.
